how we work
Here at Black Robin Design we are happy to accommodate your design requirements whatever they might be. Our working practices are flexible to accommodate the size of your project as well as your time and budgetary constraints.
Our project workflow usually runs as follows:
Brief: Where we meet with you and discuss your project, your ideas and requirements. If you aren’t too sure what you want be sure that we will ask you the right kinds of searching questions to find out! We then go away and work on:
Concepts: This is where we come up with the ‘big ideas’ for your projects. We usually work with sketching and scamping which is done by hand using traditional techniques and backed up by examples of styles, colours, typestyles etc. We will also show research into your competitors and examine your desired position in the market. This part of the design process is often the most important and can be as involved as your project requires.
Design Stages: After we have ascertained from you the directions you would like to proceed from the conceptual stage we can start to refine your designs. It is usually at this stage that we move onto the computer to work towards the finished product. We usually allow 3 design stages to refine and perfect your design.
You may also require Photography and/or Illustration
Finished Art: This is the final stage of your design project where the design is prepared for print or web production. The Finished Artist is often a different person to the Designer as they are able to take a second look at the project, take it apart and put it back together again to make sure that everything is correct. Generally when your project gets to this stage we don’t make any changes to the design as it has entered production.
We are very proud of the quality of our work and will follow your project from the inception of the idea right through to production of finished product.
